What happens to your body when you drink Coca-Cola?

When somebody drinks a Coke watch what happens…

•In The First 10 minutes: 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system. (100% of your recommended daily intake.) You don’t immediately vomit from the overwhelming sweetness because phosphoric acid cuts the flavor allowing you to keep it down. •20 minutes: Your blood sugar spikes, causing an insulin burst. Your liver responds to this by turning any sugar it can get its hands on into fat. (There’s plenty of that at this particular moment) •40 minutes: Caffeine absorption is complete. Your pupils dilate, your blood pressure rises, as a response your livers dumps more sugar into your bloodstream. The adenosine receptors in your brain are now blocked preventing drowsiness. •45 minutes: Your body ups your dopamine production stimulating the pleasure centers of your brain. This is physically the same way heroin works, by the way. •>60 minutes: The phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium and zinc in your lower intestine, providing a further boost in metabolism. This is compounded by high doses of sugar and artificial sweeteners also increasing the urinary excretion of calcium. •>60 Minutes: The caffeine’s diuretic properties come into play. (It makes you have to pee.) It is now assured that you’ll evacuate the bonded calcium, magnesium and zinc that was headed to your bones as well as sodium, electrolyte and water. •>60 minutes: As the rave inside of you dies down you’ll start to have a sugar crash. You may become irritable and/or sluggish. You’ve also now, literally, pissed away all the water that was in the Coke. But not before infusing it with valuable nutrients your body could have used for things like even having the ability to hydrate your system or build strong bones and teeth. So there you have it, an avalanche of destruction in a single can. Imagine drinking this day after day, week after week. It’s best to stick to water, real juice from fresh squeezed fruit, and tea without sweetener.

FOUR foods/drinks to stay away from…

Things to stay away from :

GLUTEN

Gluten is a grain-derived protein found in lots of different foods, mostly wheat, rye, and barley products. The name comes from the Latin word for “glue.” You don’t need to eat glue. Even if you’re not one of the millions who are sensitive or allergic to gluten, you’ll be operating a much cleaner machine if you cut it out of your diet.

PROCESSED SUGAR

Yup! I said it… this means white sugar, high fructose corn syrup, sucrose, or pretty much any kind of sugar that came from a factory instead of a piece of fruit. Processed sugar negatively affects your metabolism, your insulin response, even your mood = these are all totally empty calories. Cutting sugar out of your diet means you’re going to have to read some labels, because it is by far the most common food additive in the U.S.

ALCOHOL

I know, you may be curled up in the fetal position and wimpering at this point… I’m sorry to break it to you, but Alcohol contains Calories that are as empty as sugar, and at 7 calories a gram, booze can really pack it on. Alcohol also dehydrates your body, which compromises muscle growth. Plus it slows your metabolism, so you burn fewer calories. In short, drinking gives you less muscle and more fat—you’re just undoing everything you’re trying to achieve with your workout.

CAFFEINE

Yes, a lot of people out there say caffeine can give your workout a little extra “boost.” Obviously, it can give you some extra energy to make you push harder, but the cost is that it increases cortisol levels in your body, which inhibits lean muscle growth. Plus, it can negatively affect your sleep patterns, and you’re better off working out when you’re rested than when you’re juiced.

By eliminating these empty or harmful “foods” from your diet, you can start turning your body into the well-oiled machine nature intended it to be. By eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, you can give yourself the premium fuel to get into the best shape of your life.

So kiss it all good bye and say “HELLO” to a healthier, sexier YOU!

Insanity and Brazil Butt Lift

Hey guys and girlies!  I wanted to check in and give a quick update on my workouts… I am currently on day 4 (cardio recovery) of Insanity and I’m looking forward to this one, however, I know that it’s still going to be WORK!  I’m loving that I’m sore in all new places with this, I’m a BBL LOVER and I will be incorporating those workouts into the a.m. next week.  My sleep schedule is not on track at the moment and 4-5 hrs of sleep just isn’t cutting it for me, so… I’m working on that and then I will be doing my own hybrid Insanity/BBL workouts next week ~ Can’t wait!!!  I have to say BBL and Insanity are my favs.  I am planning on doing Les Mills Pump after this round… I’ll keep you posted!  Have a great day everyone! Peace!

Kitchen Cleanup

healthfood

Here’s the key to remember and what I think most people who struggle getting and staying on board don’t realize:

It may seem easier to just “eat whatever” instead of planning and prepping your meals and sticking to an exercise program. But, that is just an illusion. When you eat at odd hours, skip meals, eat like crap (excuse the expression), skip workouts or don’t work out at all, you wind up feeling like crap and you may end up feeling that life is out of control.
